Of course that table top could be a coffee table, a sideboard, benchtop or any other horizontal surface of similar height. If you plan to show off your table top water fountain as a centerpiece keep in mind that you will need to provide a source of electricity via a cord unless it is battery operated. So, if you want to regularly move it around then the smaller cordless battery fountains are the way to go. Table top fountains can have many other interesting features in addition to water. Did you know that they can include chimes, bells, colored stones and variable water flows? Or you can choose to add your own - such as flower plants, ferns, bonsai and fake (but realistic) butterflies.
Fountains for the table top come in a huge variety of designs, sizes and prices. Generally they are already fitted out with a pump and do not require installation. Many of them can be purchased online, and some stores will ship the smaller fountains for free. The cheapest and easiest to handle are the battery operated fountains and new designs are being released almost every day. I recently bought mine for ten dollars! and there are a huge number under forty dollars. Prices for other table top models range from $30 to over $500.
