Different Types of Indoor Waterfalls Explained
Thanks to modern manufacturing technologies you can now choose from a wide range of spectacular indoor waterfalls to fit most situations and budgets. No wonder indoor waterfalls have become one of the most popular water features. We can classify waterfalls used indoors into two basic types
- Traditional - water runs over simulated rocks
- Water wall - smooth layer of water flows down a vertical 'wall'
The traditional style waterfall is usually an attempt by the designer to emulate a natural waterfall of the type found in say, a mountain stream. It is quite often accompanied by foliage usually associated with this natural environment such as ferns - these can be live plants or realistic artificial replicas. The water wall style is more abstract and can include some quite spectacular visual effects ranging from colored lighting to painted murals, mirrors and works of art.
