Birds find moving water irresistible!

Convert any bird baths into solar fountain bird baths. Because birds can easily detect movement your fountain will attract more of them. You can take one of the solar powered fountain kits and add it to an ordinary bird bath and you can have your own solar fountain bird bath. The moving water caused by the fountain is also less likely to breed mosquitoes than a basic bird bath. Some of these solar fountains require direct sunlight to operate, so check the specifications. Kits usually include a low voltage pump with filter and spray heads as well as the solar panel and connection cable.

Easiest Water Feature to install

Bird baths (and even solar fountains) do not require any installation skills enabling you to create an instant water feature in any garden, patio, deck, yard or conservatory. For similar convenience indoors consider battery fountains.

Another exciting development is a floating illuminated solar fountain. These come with a storage battery backup so that it can pump on cloudy days and light up at night for that special effect. Floating fountains are useful for larger ponds as they do not require to have a solid foundation on the floor of a deep water pond.

Of course you can buy a complete solar fountain bird bath where the components have already been selected to match each other. When buying a complete fountain in this manner it might be worthwhile checking to see if replacement solar panels and water pumps are readily available.

Maintenance

If you live in a region subject to winter freezing you will need to remove the pump and solar panel until warmer weather returns. Usually this is a fairly simple process.

Like any other water feature, regular cleaning is always recommended.
